Interview with a Marketing and Branding graduate

LUCH Chhengly (25) graduated in a Marketing major at the National University of Management. She took this major because she was interested in business and with this major it would be easier to find a job in that field.

What she liked about her major was the study of customer attitude, of marketing strategies and marketing plans. What she liked doing most was research, because this provides insight into internal and external factors and helps prepare strategies for businesses. What she didn’t like was that in the foundation year you have to study subjects like Khmer history, which according to her are not related to the major. The workload is average; one assignment per teacher, 4 hours a day, 20 hours per week.

According to Chhengly, the high school subject that is most relevant to this major is Economics, but what is even more important is experience, so while you are studying you have to find a job.

Chhengly’s tip for you? If you are interested in this major, do more research on it and decide whether it is what you want or not. Then you have to check what job opportunities you will have when you graduate.
