Interview with an International Economics student
This student, who’d rather stay anonymous, is studying at the Department of International Studies. They chose this major because they like communication, negotiation and evaluating social programs or projects, and the economic field would help to understand the development process of Cambodia.
What the student likes about this major is that the study includes both regional and international fields and the skills learned can be used in real life. Moreover, the major contributes to social development. The subject they enjoyed most so far is International Trade Theories and Policies. What this student doesn’t like is that the major focuses on theory, not practice and that the workload is high when the timeline and deadline for all subjects is the same.
In the future this student wants to work in social development.
High school subjects that are important are Mathematics and History. If you are interested in this major, you should like social work and enjoy interacting with a lot of people.
