Soriya chose this major because she wanted to learn about <strong>bacteria in food and everywhere around us<\/strong>; this major is to her liking, especially the <strong>lab work<\/strong> involved. She says that the major takes a lot of time. From Monday to Friday you have to study for 4 to 5 hours and on Saturday from 7 am to 8.40 pm and sometimes even on Sunday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her tips if you are interested in this major: You should pay special attention to the high school subjects of <strong>Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and English<\/strong>. This major prepares you to analyze medicines and food, but also crime scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interview with a Chemistry student<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>THATT Kimhong (22) is a year 4 student at the Royal University of Cambodia and is majoring in <strong>Chemistry<\/strong>. Kimhong chose this major because chemistry can help his community and family. They are farmers and this major is also related to the <strong>use of chemicals in farming<\/strong> to improve agriculture in Cambodia. This major also helps to <strong>promote the Agro-industry sector and public health.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What Kimhong likes about this major is <strong>theory and experimentation, learning about illnesses and viruses and learning about chemical reactions<\/strong>. The workload is <strong>balanced<\/strong>. You will also acquire broad knowledge with regard to human health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interview with a Food Technology and Chemical Engineering student<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>YOEURN Chetra (21) is in his fourth year at International University, majoring in <strong>Food Chemistry.<\/strong> When he was in high school, he really <strong>liked science subjects<\/strong> and he was advised by his chemistry teacher to take this major. The <strong>science sector and food sector are booming in Cambodia<\/strong> and food is needed in local markets and around the world. The things he really likes about his major are <strong>laboratory work, sample analysis and research.<\/strong><br>As for the <strong>workload,<\/strong> he says that he <strong>prepared a weekly schedule<\/strong> because he has joined a research group and so has extra work such as sample collection, analysis, data analysis and writing reports for this group.<br>The subjects he likes best are <strong>Food Additives and Toxicology, Food Chemistry and Food Processing<\/strong>; those subjects are really important in Food Chemistry.<br>The major more than met his expectations because it <strong>also offered technology teaching and other opportunities<\/strong>, so students would be advised to look at this major because it matters.
